2021 Hyundai Elantra vs 2021 Hyundai Sonata

Serving Lexington Park, MD

When Hyundai’s Sonata debuted more than 35 years ago, it gained immediate attention among Maryland’s car shoppers. The midsize Sonata’s introduction was followed by the release of the compact Elantra a few years later. Today, the Sonata and the Elantra have undeniable appeal thanks to their thoughtful evolution over the years. Before selecting your next car from Team Hyundai Southern Maryland, you need to get familiar with these sedan models' notable differences.

Performance

You can choose between four Elantra trims and five Sonata trims when you make your selection at our new car dealership soon. The 2021 Elantra has two gas-powered engines. The top trims come with a 201-horsepower, 1.6-liter, I-4 with front-wheel drive and your choice of a manual or automatic transmission. The top Sonata powertrain is a 290-horsepower, turbo 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. It is associated with an eight-speed wet dual-clutch auto transmission, front-wheel drive, and paddle shifters.

Appearance

The athletic Elantra boasts fresh styling for the 2021 model year. Its stunning LED headlights are combined with crisp accents on the side doors that trend together for a unique look. The larger Sonata has a wider grille, and an LED ribbon underlines the headlights. This light ribbon takes a sharp turn and outlines part of the hood for a unique look. The side accents are slightly curved and run almost parallel to each other.

Features

You will not be disappointed with all of the features that your new Hyundai is loaded with regardless of the model and trim that you select. While there are subtle differences in equipment throughout the trim lines, many of the features are found in both models. These features include heated seats, a blind spot monitor, wireless smart device integration, an 8-inch display screen or more extensive, Blue Link, a push-button starter, remote trunk release, and other equipment.
