In 2022, the Hyundai Tucson breaks barriers with the introduction of its fourth generation. The small crossover SUV boasts a complete redesign from end to end and a new engine lineup. The new-look includes a radiating grille design with stunningly integrated headlights. Joining the list of powertrain options in 2022 is the Tucson Plug-In Hybrid. This 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine offers 28 miles of electric-only range, and it produces 261 net horsepower. Notably, a standard hybrid engine is also available for the first time in the 2022 model year. It is a turbo 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 227 net horsepower. Both of the hybrid engines are linked with an all-wheel drive drivetrain and a six-speed auto transmission.
The Tucson Plug-In Hybrid for 2022 is available in your choice of three trim levels. These are the Blue Hybrid, the SEL Convenience Hybrid, and the Limited Hybrid. At the SEL Convenience Hybrid trim level, the Tucson is outfitted with equipment like a dual-zone climate management system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, an auto-dimming rear mirror, a digital instrumentation screen, a wireless charging station, 19-inch wheels, a sunroof, a hands-free liftgate, ambient interior lighting, roof rails, heated front seats, USB ports in the front and rear, heated side mirrors and more.
If you upgrade to the Limited Hybrid, your 2022 Hyundai Tucson will add equipment like a panoramic sunroof, a surround-view camera system, upgraded exterior lights, lane-keep assist, memory settings for the driver’s position, heated rear seats, paddle shifters on the steering wheel, a blind-spot camera, a navigation system, a 10.25-inch touch display screen and more.
