2020 Hyundai Santa Fe vs 2020 Nissan Murano

Serving Lexington Park, MD

Showing its worth right off the bat, the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe proudly ranks #2 among midsize SUVs. The 2020 Santa Fe competes with many vehicles, including the Nissan Murano. The 2020 Nissan Murano, however, only ranks #7 among midsize SUVs. While the Santa Fe earns high marks and praise, numbers alone don't tell the full story. The Santa Fe earns its high rankings for several reasons, including a stylish exterior, powerful engine, and high-end interior that provides exceptional value. The 2020 Nissan Murano doesn't have the same power as the Santa Fe, which makes it a less-than-ideal option for towing heavier loads. Of the two, the Santa Fe also has a more comfortable and spacious interior.

Safety & Technology

No matter which trim level of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe that you choose, you'll find many innovative safety and technology features. The base trim of the Santa Fe, called the SE, is outfitted with an infotainment system that has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Along with seat belts and advanced airbags, this trim gets some notable safety features, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams. The SEL adds more features, including Safe Exit assist and rear cross-traffic alert. Starting with this trim, you'll also get an innovative Blue Link connectivity configuration. The Limited trim adds a larger eight-inch display screen and an innovative blind-view monitoring system. The Nissan Murano, in contrast, does not offer many standard safety amenities. Advanced safety aids are only available by adding on a technology package in most trim levels.

Performance is another area where the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe shines. The 2020 Santa Fe has a base engine and a second engine standard on the Limited. The base engine is a 2.4L with four cylinders that produces 185 HP and 178 LB-FT of torque. The second engine, which powers the Limited, is a 2.0L that generates a maximum of 235 HP and produces 260 LB-FT of torque. You have a choice of either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. The 2020 Murano only comes with one engine across the lineup, which provides more limited options for those wanting more power.

Inside and out, the 2020 Santa Fe offers a stunning and memorable design. The Santa Fe gets exquisite exterior accents like LED lights, roof rails, and chrome touches. You can order a package starting with the second trim level that adds a panoramic sunroof, an enhanced sound system, and a hands-free liftgate as well. The interior features a range of seating material from cloth seats on the base trim to luxurious leather on the higher-end trims. A more extensive infotainment system with navigation and a panoramic backup camera are standard features on the higher-level trims. The Nissan Murano, in contrast, has a smaller and less spacious interior. It also has less cargo space, which makes it more challenging to plan more extended getaways or transport more significant belongings. Larger wheels and more exterior options are only offered on select trims.
