2022 Hyundai Elantra vs 2022 Hyundai Elantra N

Serving Lexington Park, MD

The Hyundai Elantra is a sporty compact car that has been a preferred option for many Maryland drivers over the last few decades. It broke into new territory in 2021 with the introduction of its seventh generation, and it grew even better in 2022 with the debut of the Elantra N. The Elantra N is touted as a turbocharged version of the impressive Elantra, but how exactly do these options differ? After getting more familiar with your options, you can confidently select from our inventory at Team Hyundai Southern Maryland.

Across the full Elantra line for 2022, there are four powertrains. Most trim levels pair a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission, and the result is 147 horsepower. If you prefer to drive a hybrid car, you can opt for the Elantra Hybrid Blue trim level. This car receives 139 horsepower from its combination of a 1.6-liter engine and a battery pack—the N Line trim level benefits from a 1.6-liter, turbo four-cylinder engine that generates 201 horsepower. If you choose to drive the all-new Elantra N, your 2.0-liter, turbo four-cylinder engine will deliver 276 horsepower.

The Elantra N stands apart from the other trim levels in a few subtle yet impactful ways. The 2022 Elantra has a formidable front end that pairs a radiating grille design with integrated, angled LED headlights for all trim levels. The rolling hood is perfectly accented to show off the car’s aerodynamic design. The sides are notably chiseled and edgy for a modern look. Lower trim levels have 17-inch or 18-inch wheels. The Elantra N, however, has 19-inch alloy wheels that are paired with high-performance tires. This trim level also has minor badging differences.

Because the Elantra N is touted as a high-performance trim level, it carries many of the same features as the Elantra’s other trims. Base-level features in the 2022 Elantra include cloth upholstery, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a manual climate control system, dual USB ports, and a four-speaker sound system. Higher Elantra trims, including the Elantra N, come with keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, a dual-zone auto climate control system, an upgraded sound system, a wireless charging pad, Digital Key, leather material, voice recognition, parking sensors, and more.
